These landscapes were taken in Ladakh, an arid mountainous plateau in the far north of India bordering on Pakistan, China and Tibet.
Since the partition of India it has become a very sensitive region politically for both India and Pakistan and the landscape bears the marks of war.
The region has an altitude of around 3500metres above sea level and as a consequence the air is thin and crystal clear.
I was drawn to the barren beauty and the exquisite light of the landscape and the way it absorbed the scattered mementos of war
